The Brethren of the Holy Cross, as we were first known, were gathered into community by Blessed Theodore de Celles on 14 September 1210. Our founding community in Huy (Belgium), Clairlieu, A Place of Light, evokes the freshness and joy of a particular coming together of God with a specific group of men, shaping their common destiny and future. In our Jubilee we Crosiers start afresh. We celebrate the dawning glow of God, 800 years ago, about to make a new thing: A Place of Light. We honor the starting spark of light. We celebrate the founding event of our origins as a fraternal community, being a light for others under the sign of the Cross.
